Clear Braces
Ceramic braces are made of translucent (clear) material. They are most popular with adult patients, due to their cosmetic appeal. The only drawbacks to ceramic brackets are that they are more fragile, and the elastic ties can discolor between orthodontic visits.
“I’ve got a secret…I’m wearing Hidden Braces”
Invisalign braces are customized clear trays that a patient wears full time to allow tooth movements, but the clear trays remain virtually non-visible. This method of straightening teeth is very appealing to adult patients which make up approximately 33% of orthodontic patients.
Each customized tray is removable which makes eating and cleaning the teeth an easy task. Dr. Danyluk is recognized as a Premier Provider of Invisalign Products.
- Tenderness of the teeth when chewing for the 7-14 days after the appliances are placed. Subsequent adjustments of the appliances provide significantly less tenderness. Home-care instructions will be provided to minimize these symptoms.
- Speech may be slightly affected for the first 7-14 days after the appliances are placed. Home-care instructions will be provided to minimize these initial side effects.
- Sometimes during treatment, small comfortable tooth-colored buttons may be placed on select teeth to enhance specific tooth movements. In some instances, clear elastic bands may need to be worn on these buttons for a short time during your treatment.
- In some instances, limited braces may need to be placed, along with the Invisalign aligners, to accomplish difficult tooth movements.
- Cosmetic recontouring, or polishing, between select teeth may need to be completed in your treatment to provide room for teeth to properly align over bone. This recontouring removes less than ¼ of a mm of enamel surface, leaving sound, healthy tooth structure with no increased chance of decay, sensitivity or gum problems.
Invisalign braces for teens is the latest innovation for treating teens using customized clear trays. With Invisalign Teen, younger patients can enjoy all of the benefits of the orthodontic process, but no one has to know. Each customized tray is removable which makes eating and cleaning the teeth an easy task. Dr. Danyluk is recognized as a Premier Proved of Invisalign Products.
Lingual braces are attached to the inside or lingual side of the teeth to allow tooth movements to be earned out while making them non-visible This advanced method makes lingual orthodontics particularly well-suited for adults and teens No on e can tell they are wearing these braces so patients can enjoy the process of having braces while still retaining their natural smile.
Lingual braces are made up of two main components: the small metal pieces also called brackets are attached directly to the teeth and a wire, also call an arch wire, connects them together. Traditional braces adhere to the front of the teeth while lingual brackets adhere to the back side of the teeth.
The back side of each tooth has its own unique shape —unlike the front of each tooth. Each lingual bracket must be custom formed to the unique shape of each individual tooth. Treatment for lingual braces is usually more difficult than that of standard braces. Dr. Danyluk and Team Orthodontics have been named as a Center of Excellence by the largest manufacturers of customized lingual braces.

Expectations During Orthodontic Care
Orthodontic treatment, like any other medical care, involves a process of expectations during treatment. These expectations are largely dependent on the specific type of treatment for each individual, as well as that individual’s response to the treatment. The following outlines common orthodontic treatment and some of the potential associated expectations with each. Every treatment possibility available for your situation will be thoroughly explained.
