Lingual (Hidden) Braces

Lingual braces are attached to the inside or lingual side of the teeth to allow tooth movements to be earned out while making them non-visible This advanced method makes lingual orthodontics particularly well-suited for adults and teens No on e can tell they are wearing these braces so patients can enjoy the process of having braces while still retaining their natural smile.

Lingual braces are made up of two main components: the small metal pieces also called brackets are attached directly to the teeth and a wire, also call an arch wire, connects them together. Traditional braces adhere to the front of the teeth while lingual brackets adhere to the back side of the teeth.

The back side of each tooth has its own unique shape —unlike the front of each tooth. Each lingual bracket must be custom formed to the unique shape of each individual tooth. Treatment for lingual braces is usually more difficult than that of standard braces. Dr. Danyluk and Team Orthodontics has been named as a Center of Excellence by the largest manufacturers of customized lingual braces.
